Climate change is one the greatest challenges faced by humanity today. Caused by the emission of global greenhouse gas from the burning of fossil fuels, one simple method of mitigating such emissions is through energy efficiency.
Australian homes contribute to approximately one-fifth of Australia’s total greenhouse gas emissions. On average, each home generates approximately 7 tonnes of greenhouse emissions annually.
Australians can play a part in reducing their individual emissions through the use of renewable energy, and implementing energy efficiency measures including behavioural change.
In addition to reducing greenhouse emissions, Australians could also see a reduction in their energy bills if these measures are put in place, as well as making their homes more comfortable to live in.
